Nitpickingly neurotic nervy and anal; Virgo gets a raw deal press wise. The sign is
about health, daily routine, technique, order and other less-than-interesting-but-nevertheless-you-have-to-admit vital
stuff. Too many hyphens - sorry, Virgo.
These are the health fanatics of the zodiac, yes they do want everything to be 'just so'
at home/in the office/in the world. They can be self-contained, sometimes to the point of
becoming a bit too isolated. All these things in their right measure are fine. But they can
be carried to the point of
obsession - too much analysis and pontification can drive you crazy.
Before I get too Virgoanly critical lets remember that the sign does have a
wonderful upside. These are the people that want to make everything in the world better.
They are endlessly involved in improving themselves, others and everything around them.
They are often very observant, have great
attention to detail in whatever they are doing and like to help others out. Virgo tinkers with
technique to the point that the most efficient, elegant way of doing things is found; for
example Charlie Parker's jazz saxophone playing was based on his technique, which was all
about formulae he had worked out. Whatever it seemed, it was not random or about
chaos, which is the Piscean (Virgo's
opposite sign) way of doing things; Virgo - even on edge Virgo, like Parker was - doesn't like leaving things
to chance; it calculates and hones. Thus in art and work
the sign is often brilliant in its observations. Witness some of the songs written by
Jarvis Cocker for Pulp, the brilliant mimicry and invention of Peter Sellers, the novels of
D.H. Lawrence.
Virgos need to learn to relax and let in a little chaos on occasion. They should apply
their brilliant, critical minds to tasks at hand as well as let themselves drift into the
occasional daydream. Sometimes they might need to look for an overview rather than an overly
critical close-up perspective.

Example Chart: Bill Murray
in
Please note that this is an untimed birth chart.
Although known for comedy, Murray has also played straight roles such as the downbeat actor in "Lost in Translation". His deadbeat put upon air show the weary Virgo, tired of all that work, detail and lack of meaning.
The classic "Groundhog Day" involves the Virgoan dream (or nightmare? depends if you are talking about a really perfectionist Virgo or not) of reliving every detail of a day until it is perfect and one gets what is deserved. Murray proved perfect for the part of the frustrated, arrogant weatherman stuck in a small town as the day endlessly repeated. Here he had to learn the Virgoan virtue of a deep respect for life, finding his humanity through humility and helping others.
